Goodnight, Little Bud...

We had a bit of a sad afternoon here today.. we had to say goodbye to our persian puss, Biela. He was quite poorly today, so made an appointment at the vets, only to find out that he had a serious heart murmur, leading to failure. All in all, a very poorly little boy.

He was a little darling.. and in the 11 years we had him, he was a very loyal companion who made us feel glad he'd come to live with us. We still have his twin, Senna, who seems to be taking things well, just being extra cuddly. He always had the ability to make us chuckle with how dirty he got.. lovely little scruff bag!

Here's my little Bud..
Rest in peace little fella.. until Rainbow Bridge..... xx

Strike are on the Ball....

Well folks.. he made it...

Danny and his chum made it through to the finals of Britain's got Talent.. Here's the write up in the Mail.. Well done to both of you.. The program last night showed just how proud his family were, showing Pauline and his sister in the audience!

Go Strike! I'm sure all of Armthorpe are rooting for you to win!

My day out with Nikki.

I haven't any cards to upload today.. so thought I would share the photos of our day out with Nikki, docrafts designer extraordinaire, yesterday.. she is ace! What a laugh..

Firstly, I'll introduce her..

This is Nikki.. she doesn't always look like this.. sometimes she is more normal!HAHA..She is in the process of blobbing her tongue out at me at this point!

This is Nikki and myself.. sunning ourselves at the side of the fantastic little river... photo taken by David.. Thanks hun! The little poochie is Truly, who will be renamed Trudy as soon as she goes to live with her new mummy... Nikki!

This was Holly, Scooby and Dylan playing on the 'beach' piece of the river..

little Dylan having a splash.. he really enjoyed himself... what a stunner!

My Scooby-dooby.. he is my boy! Fantastic piccie.. he won't let go of a ball for anything!

And last but not least.. a photo of Nikki having a paddle! I really didn't want to include this one of Nikki - she needed to retain a little bit of pride.. but her wonderful hubby David said I had to! So here it is.... ****giggle giggle****

The dogs had lost their ball in the water, so Nikki went to fetch it.. what a funny pic.. and what a funny lady.. You made my day Babe.. see you in a few weeks. xx

Challenge me......

Here are a couple of projects that I completed yesterday..they were for a couple of challenges I came across this week.

This is the first one..

I used Paper Nation decoupage for this one.. and the idea for this one came from Cute Card Thursday, which gave the title as Travel/Vacation.

This card was for the challenge over at Pageplans.. where they gave you a template to work from.. this was my interpretation.. using DCWV papers and Dovecraft brad.. The only thing I forgot to stick on was my greeting..so I'll glue that in place tomorrow..

Now.. I'm off to get me cuppa coffee.. I've had a really busy (!!) day today, lounging about at the side of a river in Cumbria with my wonderful best friend Nikki.. two and half hours driving is just great when you get a luvverly cuddle at the end of it!

Feedback is good.. or is it?

What a wierd sorta morning..

I had a quick squiffy at the docrafts website over the weekend and came across this. It is such a shame when people coming to our demonstrations feel let down. I also feel it is a bit of a shame when people are being a little more specific about the details of the demo's.

All us designers at Docrafts have quite a hard job to do and everyone works in a different way. I personally like to try to involve the customer as much as I can in my demonstrations, and I have found this to work quite well.. hence my feedback here from a recent demo.

We work very hard at our demonstrations, and one of the hardest -and sometimes most nervous -things to do in the world is to sit in front of a crowd of people, talking and creating, and trying not to make a mistake! I hold my hands up to doing things wrong, and things not working too well on the day, but I just laugh it off because I know I'm not perfect.. I am a crafter and things don't always go to plan..

So.. that's me all said and done..

Back later with some new creations.. hopefully! lol

Sunday 18 May 2008

Oh what a day..

I'm having a bit of a funny sorta day today.. bit sad.. bit happy..

Firstly, I had a couple of emails in my inbox this morning, regarding my blog I'd set up to collect cards for the troops.. the idea came from a lady I was in contact with in America, but apparantly the write up I had wasn't totally right.. anyway, I decided to delete the blog and contact a charity here in the UK that distributes packages to our troops.. so watch this space..

Now sadly, today is the anniversary of the date we lost our beloved Asti..(below)

We lost her a year ago today, she had cancer. What an absolute stunner of a dog she was, her whole personality, her love and loyalty has always stayed with me since we lost her. Maybe it was Asti who came bombarding through my shed the other day causing all my stamps to fall on my head?? I guess I'll never know, but in case it was, I did tell her I still loved her!

And happy? Well, my new additions to the household. When we lost Asti I said I really didn't want another dog... only to end up with two little hooligans in the shape of our Springer Spaniels, Holly and Scooby. Holly was six weeks old when we got her, and Scooby came from NESSR at 18 months.. We are also currently fostering for the lovely Jackie, and have a little golden cocker, Truly, who you will have seen in the photos before.

There isn't a day goes by where I don't think of Asti, and wish she was still here.. but I know she is at Rainbow bridge with all her new friends.. love always Asti. xx

The Artistic Stamper..

This company makes the most wonderful stamps and Jenny and Hels are the nicest folks you could wish to meet..the watch on the DCM card below is from their range too..

And this stamp is for their blog challenge..why not give it a go? It's really good fun. Here's my entry.

How very dare he?

Well... crafting and card making obviously isn't for Scooby... I think it makes him tired! He's my big boy and I love him, love him, love him.... !

Daring Card Makers?!

Look what I've been spent my time doing today... catching up with the challenges on Daring Card Makers.. I really enjoy their challenges, great fun!

Paper or Clocks
Another Midweek challenge based on the traditional and modern gift lists for Wedding AnniversariesThis time we've chosen the 3rd Anniversary, so you have the choice ofPaper or Clocks to inspire your card making this week - which is nice and easy don't you think?

Team Dare!! Recycle..........

This week we have a team dare for you ....and we have been looking at Recycling once again. BUT there is a tiny twist! (you'd expect no less eh?) We want you to have a look at old shop bought greetings cards, wrapping paper or gift bags which you have received in the past and recycle any elements to make a card of your own.You could use them to make backgrounds, cut small focus pieces out, or use the flowers, ribbon and other interesting bits and pieces that are often attached to the cards. So there you go! Simple eh? So come on join in and reuse, go green, start recycling!

Sorry about this one being a christmas theme.. they're the only recycled bits I could find! lol.

2nd in our series....

Our mid week dare has come flying around again and we have gone back to our series of cards inspired by Anniversary gift themes for this weeks little extra dare. This week we are hoping to inspire you with the modern and tradional gifts for the5th Anniversary, which is Wood or Silverwarewhich has been randomly picked- just to keep you on your toes ! :)Do with it what ever you wish, it doesn't have to be aniversary card, just inspired by the gift theme.

Some of my demo cards.

Thank you to all the lovely ladies that came to see me on Saturday.. it was really lovely to see you all again. My demo was obviously well recieved, see here. I do love it when people come and enjoy my demo's, and it makes it even better when they leave a lovely comment or two.

Here are some samples I took with me on the day. All the products are Docrafts, which I was demonstrating on the day. If you need any info on any of them, just give me a shout...

Krafty Cards Competition Challenge..

Don't forget... second competition is up and running HERE.... don't forget to enter.. only a few weeks left to get your entries in..

Bind it.. bind it...

.....just a little bit of take it easy.. (my rendition from Bend it, by Dave, Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Titch... remember them? this song is so ace!!!)

But, in fact I have been taking it easy today and made a couple of projects using my bind it all. I love this little machine!

I didn't include ribbons on the bindings as the children they are for are only toddlers - safety first!
Jacob's card and book were made using Docrafts papers, stamps etc, and Isabelle's were made using Papercraft 4 You papers, Docrafts papers, Dovecraft stamps, and the images are cuddlybuddly downloads.

And here is Jacob's card in closer detail..must admit, I wasn't too sure about the robots in the paper pack, but after I bought the stamp, thought they worked quite well.. hope you like it - and it also fits the challenge on page plans..

Meet Truly...

She is a stunning little golden cocker.. two years old, who came to stay with us on Saturday after a long trip over from Ireland..

We named her Truly, as she didn't know her name anyway (sandy), and she really is a little stunner! Gets on well with my two springers and is just like a little puppy now she's been clipped off.

Hopefully, after she meets my friend Nikki and David, next Wednesday, she will have a new home ready and waiting with big brother Dylan.

Here she is..

Page Plans

are you ever stuck for a good idea for a card layout..

Well, try this site.. it's really good! the link is also on the right hand side... ---------------->>

Catching up..

I had a fairly constructive day today.... in between clipping our new addition into shape... then onto the two persians..

This is what I came up with..

This is for a challenge on Bex's forum.. will look up the title, zesty something, and will edit tomorrow.

This baby one is for a new challenge blog, here called Stamp Challenges... the idea was 'Firsts'.. so baby's first birthday for this one..

This is another for Cute Card Thursday.. using new dovecraft papers and one of my all time favourite stamps! Bling is the jewels in the centre of the flowers and bone chipboard.

Monday 12 May 2008

Nikki...if you're reading... turn away now!!!!

Haha..

I have been busy this morning, making a belated birthday present set for my bezzy mate, Nikki..

I have made a card book to take her demo samples around, an ATC book for carrying her ATC's.. (Mrs ATC Queen!), and a notepad.. as we are like two peas from the same pod and always struggle to remember things!

I also made a little photo album for her lovely pooch, Dylan..

Here they are..

Very productive day..

...............and apart from taking photos of my favourite subject - flora and fauna - I decided to take a break and make some cards for a change.. lol.

This was using a Kyle stamp, coloured with prismas, and layered up onto the masculine papers from Docrafts... they have some great colours for men in there. This is for a challenge on Carolyns forum.

whilst having a 'rootle' around in my shed the other day, I came across this set of Cherished Teddies stamped I acquired a couple of years ago and have never used... again, I used prisma's to colour him in, the ribbon is Dovecraft velvet, and the papers are DCWV.

This tri fold card was made entirely from Docrafts products and the new stamps from this loop.. Mostly all masculine ones and they are fab!

This card was made again from Docrafts products. I decided to make a golf ball on a tee to go with a little something else I want to make.. if you want to find out what it was, you'll have to come and see my demo at the Range, Doncaster, on Sunday. I will also let you into the secret of how to make the golf ball... lol. The lettering is X Cut.

This was a bit of quick playtime... The corner stamps are Docrafts, the stamp is Paper Nation, coloured with prismas, and the paper -I think - is K and Co.

Summer days....

well, it feels like it - again!

And I went exploring in the garden to play with my macro lens.. I didn't quite realise dandelions were so perfectly formed!
